What is a JUMBO Coturnix Quail?
This can be defined in 3 components: Quail, Coturnix, and JUMBO.
Quail is a broad name for mid-sized game birds. Although more famous for hunting, they are increasing in popularity as a homestead bird due to their size and ease in bird keeping.
Coturnix is the breed of quail that Quail Quest LLC breeds and raises. Otherwise known as the “Common Quail”, this breed has been domesticated and bred primarily for meat and egg production. They are a songbird that blends into surrounding bird calls of nature, but stands out on your homestead!
JUMBO is an extra specialized component that narrates their weight and size compared to its standard counterpart. MORE meat, MORE weight per each egg, MORE nutrients in each product!
Why should we eat quail/quail eggs?
Quails pack their meat with dense texture and abundant nutritional benefits. We like to call them the 90/10 of the beef world. Their unique taste comes from their lean meat, much like a dark/white meat comparison with the chicken. Comparable to the chicken, quail has a higher concentration of Vitamin C and iron, and also gives you an additional dose of Vitamin A. Our JUMBO sized meat are nearly double in weight compared to farms that raise standard quail.
Quail eggs are considered a superfood due to its nutritional density. We raise specifically JUMBO sized eggs and almost double in size compared to its standard counterpart. Due to the yolk-egg white ratio, these eggs have a slight creamier consistency compared to the chicken egg. Quail eggs possess many great health benefits such as Vitamins B12, A, and C, and more iron and protein by density. They also contain choline and its specific protein helps with allergies. The list goes on for a product so small!
By no means are we dissing our beloved chickens, we just encourage you to ALSO have quail meat and eggs as a common staple in your home.
What is FARM FRESH?
Quail Quest LLC are the direct farmers handling the love and care for your food or future pets. We pick eggs weekly for our weekend events, and we keep them unwashed as an added benefit to you. They will last longer than your standard egg, and their shell remains chemical free which aids in their strength compared to old, store-bought eggs. There is no middle man between the farm and your table, exactly as it should be.
Can I raise my own quail?
Absolutely! We raise JUMBO Coturnix Quails within the city limits of Port St. Lucie, and we provide various options to help you get started. We have Chicks/Adults, Breeding Pairs, Hatching Eggs, and Rental Kits. Use the “Store” tab for product descriptions, or we can make a suggestion. Contact us on our website, call our phone, or visit us in person! We did the dirty work of figuring out how it’s possible, and believe us that if we can do it, so can you!
Do I have to know anything before I start quail keeping?
It is always best to do your research before diving into any new hobby, but Quail Quest LLC will hold your hand for as little or as much as you want!
